Friday, Day 9

Hola mis amigos!

This morning I skipped out on the toast and went for a breakfast bar- one of my better decisions this week, haha. We had a pretty uneventful morning of classes until we got to our english class. We had a guest speaker from the University of Valencia come speak about the different languages in Spain. It's weird to think there is four languages in such a small country..

After class, we all stopped next door to check out how much University of Valencia soccer tickets were. On the trip- we all have to have "three cultural activities" to complete. They can range from visiting a museum on your own, going to a festival, attending a sporting event, ect. We decided as a group that all 22 of us would go together, so we all bought tickets for 15 euros a peice. Spainards are crazy about their futbol, so the game should be interesting. It's on Sunday at 7!

When Katie & I got home today- Gemma had made us bacon/cheese and spinach/cheese flat bread pizzas. She let us eat in front of the tv and we talked about futbol and watched some shows. We took a little siesta afterwards for like 3 1/2 hours. I'm telling you, siestas are the best thing EVER. When we woke up, we went to go buy Gemma and Jamel a bottle of wine for being so awesome. Jamel was back from Peniscola by the time we came back from the grocery store. Later in the night, Gemma made us tortilla de patatas again, but showed us how to do it this time! It's so easy, I might even try it at home.

We met up with some friends from the institute after dinner to try out our first Valencia discoteca (night club). The dancing was hilarious and awesome at the same time with lots of fist pumping (Mom- Hope & Paul would have loved it, dancing was very jersey shore!!) The band playing was called 'Space Elephants'.. needless to say, it was a bizarre, but fun, experience. We danced until it was morning and reluctantly dragged ourselves back home to get some good sleep before tomorrow. Sorry for the short blog, but more to come! Hasta Luego!
