The post may be a little short today, not too much happened! We started the day off by eating toast for breakfast.. surprise! Katie and I have almost finished a half a jar of PB already. We have started taking it by the spoonful because it's the only protein we can get in the morning, haha. Plus, we never really know what our next meal is going to be.
Classes at the institute went well today. I was exhausted for some reason, so it was pretty hard to keep my eyes open. When we got home for lunch, we were a little on the uneasy side for what might be for lunch. Turns out, it was delicious! We ate paella con verduras (rice with vegetables) and strawberries with whipped cream for dessert.
After lunch, Katie and I decided to take a nice long siesta that was only supposed to last an hour.. which turned in to two, easily. All that eating will make you exhausted. After our nap, we decided to procrastinate a little longer and walk around our 'neighborhood' streets a little. We ended up stopping in quite a few shops and I even ended up purchasing my first thing in Spain (besides food that is), a shirt for ten euros. We also stopped in the grocery store cafe across the street for more cafe con leche and to ask the workers our "question of the day". After siesta and procrastinating for another hour, we decided to head back to our homestay to finally settle into our homework. We have a diario (similar to a blog entry), pregunta del dia, blog for english, and reading due tomorrow.. Yikes!
After working on homework for a few hours, our host mom made us dinner. To our excitement, it was our favorite tapas from the night before (croquetas de pollo)!! She also made the best mashed potatoes I have ever had (even better than yours Papa, sorry!), peas with pepper, and bread. She gave us wine and water too. This is one of my favorite dinners we have had yet! We also found out that our host dad will be in Peniscola until Friday rennovating a house and staying with a friend. I guess we found out what he may be doing for work! Looks like it will be just me, Katie, and Gemma for the week. Until next time, hasta luego!
So what does Gemma do? Do they have kids? Are you going to share your Question (and answer) of the Day?
ReplyDeleteWe still have yet to find out what Gemma does! Most of our questions of the day are of things that we are going to see/experience the next day. It's always interesting because if you ask people on the street, they always have something different to say. I will start posting the answer and the question!
